I'm Lonely

I'm lonely and though I am afraid to admit it I desperately want my soul mate to
hold me.
adore me.
love me.

More than a physical attraction I need mental interaction. A loving embrace and the warmth of his sweet grace.
Not to be confused with lustful thrust but a subtle, passionate touch,
a companion and relationship that's built on trust.
I am tired of trying to make this pillow feel real...I know for certain this is not the true deal;
as it is hollow and I am feeling down right shallow.
Has he passed me by or is he in the days to come
perhaps someone I already confer?
For Heaven sake
send me my mate
and if I must wait at least send me a date.

Because if I continue to lie awake in this daze and wait I swear I will evaporate
Diffusing myself into sole existence without subsistence
for I am lonely and longing for my true soul mate.

Why men wait longer to get married? BNet Article

Ladies, have you ever wondered why your significant other hasn't popped "the question" yet? According to a recently released study conducted at Rutgers University in Piscataway, NJ, the average male is delaying his first marriage until he reaches 27, the oldest recorded age in the nation's history. The average woman on the other hand tends to marry when she is 25 years old.
So why are men waiting longer to get married?
Researchers of the National Marriage Project at Rutgers conducted focus group discussions with 60 single, heterosexual men of different backgrounds, ranging in age from 25 to 33. The study reveals that the top 10 reasons why men won't commit are:

1. They can get sex without marriage more easily than in times past.
2. They can enjoy the benefits of having a wife by cohabitating rather than marrying.
3. They want to avoid divorce and its financial risks.
4. They want to wait until they are older to have children.
5. They fear that marriage will require too many changes and compromises.
6. They are waiting for the perfect soul mate and she hasn't appeared yet.
7. They face few social pressures to marry.
8. They are reluctant to marry a woman who already has children.
9. They want to own a house before they get a wife.
10. They want to enjoy single life for as long as possible

Life's Blessings!

Life's Blessings!
As I look back over my 29 years I’m amazed at how incredible God is and that keeps me meek.
Out of my mother’s womb she had bloodshot eyes and pain I took her off her feet.
From early childhood games of hopscotch, double-dutch and hide-n-seek.
Raised in the inner city of Miami my mom taught me pride but I had little support and guidance I was weak.
Moved around a bit one hood to another changing from school to school Before entering my teens the father I loved walked out he didn't direct me just paid his monthly dues.
Grew up with a mean step dad my sisters and mom
constant ass whippings didn’t make me strong
instead I suppressed my anger and it steered me wrong.
Yet, I managed to excel academically earning good marks
But the grades wasn’t the best escape from the inner scars -- I was in the dark.
Left the nest at nineteen I had my reasons
Worked two jobs and in enrolled in school taking lessons.
Pulled of an Associate’s in 18 months
But life got tough, bills stacking high and the cost of life going up
Before long I’m an Auntie with the weight of an infant on my shoulders Five pounds four ounce is heavy when you step up to play father.
At a humble twenty one, I felt grown and tapped into Miami’s night life. 1, 2, 3 years of partying like a rock star I ignore any strife.
Still anxious not to get caught up in the rout and complacency Simultaneously, I was a student head deep in debt at an institution of higher education – Nova Southeastern University.
By the end of 2004 it was hard for me – the government discontinued the special pell grant at NSU
And subsequently, my last four classes became my sole burden it was like symptoms of a bad flu.
No money in my account, pointless to even ask my parents because I was self- supported and self-sufficient
I had no other choice but to stop and so I wept
Low-end job with great experience prepared me for a better opportunity Which lands me in the Big D full of humility!
